Happy New Year!!

Has been a very long while since my last blog on here - i'm still determined to keep it going, and more regularly too!!

The period up to Xmas was really hectic for me, I had so much going on so didn't have time to be doing any blogging (at least that's my excuse!!). Plus i've also had a couple of weeks away over Xmas and the New Year to just relax and rest.

I'm back with avengence now though, and got loads of stuff to sort out for 2009. Still got the radio show every Saturday night on Westside FM 89.6 (www.westsideradio.co.uk) which has been going really well recently. Plus another FREE CD is in the works too. I meant to have that out for my 'Skandalouz' end-of-term party at Brunel University in December (a big thankyou to everyone who came to that), but once again my overly hectic schedule didn't allow!

So watch this space, lots of exciting things on the horizon for ya boy! Will hopefully be a great 2009!!

Been a while since i've written on here, i've been laying low recently as i've just had an operation to have all my wisdom teeth removed!

Had to get knocked out to have it done and my face is currently all sore and swollen, so DJing has taken a bit of a back step the last few days.

Should be off the pain-killers shortly though so hopefully i'll be back to my best soon!!

This week i'm taking it easy, just got the one gig at Liquid/Envy Uxbridge on Wednesday 12th to soldier through!

Been another busy week for ya boy SKZ!! An event called 'Heat' on Tuesday, 'Get Lost' at Liquid Uxbridge on Wednesday, and the start of Live LinQ's 'Madness Tour' on Thursday!

This week you can catch me on the Wednesday at Liquid Uxbridge as usual, and on Thursday alongside Wiley at Brunel (flyer below...)

People have already been asking for another Mix CD, and I can tell you that i'm in my studio working overtime on it, and it will be out really soon...

In the meantime I thought i'd post up another of my favourite records of all time, 'Shook Ones' by Mobb Deep. True Hip-Hop head should know all about this one, and like most people I can recite Prodigy's verse line-for-line!! Enjoy!!

This week i've done DJ performances at Liquid Uxbridge on Wednesday, and at 'Funk Off' @ Brunel Academy on Thursday.

Coupled with a very stressful week with my day job at the BBC (yes I do a 9-to-5 as well, what can I say, i'm a grinder!!), I can truly say i'm looking forward to a good couple of days resting!!

Last night I attended the first ever UK Soca Awards ceremony in central London to go and support my boy DTee. After setting off the evening with some nice Caribbean food, and a couple of hot performances from some UK Soca acts, DTee went on to pick up Best Club DJ, and Best Radio DJ. The night was capped off by a performance by the Queen of Soca herself, Alison Hinds.

Next week i'm at Brunel twice, Tuesday 21st for 'Heat' & Thursday 23rd for Live LinQ's 'Madness Tour', and Liquid Uxbridge on Wednesday 22nd (check out the events page for flyers).

So I thought i'd try n kick off this whole blogging thing today. I've never really been much good at keeping a diary, or doing anything at all on a regular basis so we'll see how this goes... (hopefully this won't be my first and last entry!!)

So this week i'm doing Liquid/Envy Uxbridge on Wednesday and 'Funk Off' at Brunel on Thursday. Both of these should be cool, but i'm really looking forward to see Supa D play at 'Funk Off' - an hour and a half of pure Funky Funky mixed by the man who does it best!!

I thought i'd post up a few vids of songs that I actually like (rather than the ones that I just play in the club), so to kick off i've got this one from Scarface. This is called 'My Block' from his classic Def Jam album 'The Fix'. One Of my all time favourite records!! Enjoy!!
